StratInterviews (“we”, “us”, “our”) cares about the privacy of your data and is committed to protecting it. This policy explains the information we collect about you and why, how we process it and handle it. We have tried to make this document as clear and concise as possible, however there are contact details at the end of this document if you have any questions.
Which information is collected?
When you interact with our Site and/or Services, we collect Information that, alone or in combination with other data, could be used to identify you (“Personal Data”).
There are four main categories of data, described below:
A. Core Account Settings Information
When you sign up for or use our Services, you voluntarily give us certain Personal Data, including:
  • Your username and email address;
  • Your payment and billing information, if you are a paying customer. This is required to complete a commercial transaction on the Site. We use this information to enable and fulfill your transaction and for accounting reporting.
B. Account Profile Information
When you subscribe for a course, or at any time in the My Account – My Profile section of the Site, you can provide us with additional information on your experience and objectives. This notably includes:
  • Firm(s) you consider applying to, geographies and role(s);
  • Your school/universities and graduation year;
  • Experience and level of preparation for strategy consulting interviews;
  • How you heard about us.
C. User Content & Feedback
If you sign-up for a training course, we will capture:
  • The content you review;
  • Your progression throughout the curriculum;
  • Your video and audio recordings in business case and fit preparation exercises;
  • Your answers to quizzes, and your corresponding performance scores;
  • Your input shared via self-assessment, feedback and contact surveys.
We may record any additional text, video and audio recording, forms and surveys, documents, or other content or information uploaded, entered, or otherwise transmitted by you in connection with your use of the Services and/or Software.
D. Automatically Collected Information
Certain data about the devices you use to connect with StratInterviews and your use of the Site and/or Services are automatically logged in our systems, including:
  • Browser and device information;
  • Server log file information;
  • Usage information (e.g. usage on the website or data from our third-party partners related to our Site);
  • Geographic location information (e.g. IP address or similar identifier);
  • Information collected through cookies and other tracking / monitoring technologies, as described in our Cookie Policy.
Why do we use your information?
We use, process and store Personal Data, as outlined in ‘Which information is collected?’ because it is necessary to perform the contract between us (providing the products or services ordered from us or opening and maintaining your account with us) or because we have a legitimate business interest. Our legitimate business interests include but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring we continue to improve our service and better understand our users and customers and how you use our website, products and services;
  • Ensuring we can communicate with you and you can easily communicate with us and amend your preferences from time-to-time; and
  • Ensuring we develop and maintain strong relationships with our partners, including but not limited to
    • Consulting companies;
    • Head-hunters and recruitment agencies;
    • Training or educational institutions and professors;
    • Product or services development partners;
    • Marketing third parties (including but not limited to Google ‘Adwords’, Facebook ‘Ads’ and LinkedIn ‘Insights’).

Our partners use your personal information because they believe they have legitimate business interests to do so as they think you would be interested in hearing from them about:
  • Internships, work or training opportunities;
  • Similar products and services to those we provide.
How can I access and update my personal information?
If you are a registered user, you can update your personal information by signing in on the Site and going to the My Account section.
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we may hold about you, or for your data to be deleted by emailing [email protected], from your account email address. Note we may request additional information from you to verify your identity before we disclose, edit or delete any information.
How long do you keep my personal information for?
We will keep your information only for as long as it is relevant and useful for the purpose for which it was originally collected. Please note that if your account appears to have not been used for 24 months, we will try and contact you to check whether it is still in use and/or we will disable and anonymize the associated information.
Where is your data stored, processed and communicated?
StratInterviews will store and process your personal data both within and outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland:
  • Our servers are located in the EU/EEA/Switzerland;
  • Our sales and customer service is based in Australia;
  • As our partners are based across the Globe (e.g. local consulting firms offices), we may share your personal data with partners both within and outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland. 
How do we secure your information?
We do our best to keep your Personal Data safe.
The use of our service is private and secure thanks to the SSL protocol. When you access our service, you will notice that it is a “https” session, like those used for secure payments on the internet. Therefore, nobody can access the information you provide us with. We use anonymizing and pseudonymizing where suitable. We monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. Even though we try our best, we cannot guarantee the security of information. However, we promise to notify suitable authorities of data breaches. We will also notify you if there is a threat to your rights or interests. We will do everything we reasonably can to prevent security breaches and to assist authorities should any breaches occur.If you have an account with us, you are the only one to know your account password. It is stored encrypted in our databases, through a “hash type” irreversible function. Therefore we do not know your password. If you forget it, you must choose a new password, following steps outlined in an email sent to you.
Under which circumstances may your information be shared?
We only disclose Personal Data to third parties when we either:
  • Use service providers who assist us in meeting business operations needs, including hosting, delivering, and improving our Services. We also use service providers for specific services and functions, including email communication, customer support services, and analytics. These service providers may only access, process, or store Personal Data pursuant to our instructions and to perform their duties to us; or
  • Have your explicit consent to share your Personal Data; or
  • Believe it is necessary to investigate potential violations of the Terms of Service, to enforce those Terms of Service, or where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, or potential threats against persons, property, or the systems on which we operate our Site and/or Services; or
  • Determine that the access, preservation, or disclosure of your Personal Data is required by law to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of StratInterviews and users of our Site and/or Services, or to respond to lawful requests by public authorities, including national security or law enforcement requests; or
  • Need to do so in connection with a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization, sale of some or all of our assets or stock, public offering of securities, or steps in consideration of such activities (e.g., due diligence). In these cases some or all of your Personal Data may be shared with or transferred to another entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.
Our partners and other third-parties who we may share your information with will be required to meet our standards on processing information and security. The information we provide them, including your information, will only be provided in connection with the performance of their function. If you wish to prohibit us sharing your personal information to our partners for promotional use, you can follow these steps:
  • Once logged-in, go to the My Account  - Account Settings section;
  • Uncheck the type(s) of communication you would like to prohibit;
  • Save your profile.
Stratinterviews uses cookies and other tracking technologies to improve the Site, content and quality of service. Cookies are small data files that are served by our platform and stored on your device. For more information about cookies, the types of cookies we use and how we use them, please see our cookie policy, a copy of which can be found here.Your personal information may be shared if it is made anonymous and aggregated, as in such circumstances the information will cease to be personal data.
What rights do I have, and how can I exercise them?
  • Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the data that we hold about you.
  • Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Right to be forgotten – you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.
  • Right to restriction of processing – you can ask for us to restrict the way we process your data.
  • Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.
  • Right to object – you have the right to object to our processing your data where we are relying on a legitimate interest in order to process it.
  • Right to withdraw your consent – you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
